It strikes me that people attach all sorts of meanings to flowers and other flora and fauna, hence the names they have been given. But these flora, like everything in nature, live in the present. A flower doesn’t see itself as “budding,” “at its peak,” then “decaying.” It simply exists. Counter-intuitively, in isolating them you take away the associations and let people again experience them in the present, as they actually exist in nature. This series was made with a flatbed scanner, printed on photo metallic paper.
