During the course of Art All Day planning, and into a challenging period for all (2020), non-profits with programmed events had to pivot. What might the community feel comfortable attending? A partnership with the Tri-State Transportation Campaign presented some absolutely superb solutions – CICLOVIA.

Spanish term that means “cycleway”, either a permanent bike path or the temporary closing of certain streets was a perfect fit to change Art All Day (visiting artists in studios) to Open Streets | Open Studios – where all would be open air, and the cyclists could claim the streets.

The TSTC asked my assistance to design a logo specifically for a Ciclovia Trenton.

The color way sheet shows various versions, with solid and knocked out treatments. Ultimately, one logo should be used – and we knew that we’d be altering it a bit depending on the implementation. One detail I love is the icon – although not all icons are necessary, this one is a bike frame outline that also looks like a part of street map. We thought we could make this into buttons and stickers some day.
